Why Willpower Fails

We’ve all tried to change our behavior. Who hasn’t eaten their share of goodies from Thanksgiving to Christmas, determined to lose the weight and get buff when the New Year rolls around? I’ve done it. New Year’s Day, I’ve saddled up my willpower, refreshed my gym membership, eaten protein and veggies for the first two weeks…and then I find my hand in the cookie jar. 

Then the self-loathing mind chatter gives me a bunch of crap about how I’ve failed to succeed at my desired goal. 

It has happened for me over and over…but I’ve found a gentler, more effective way to break self-sabotaging patterns that I want to share with you.

We fall into repetitive behaviors because 95% of them are wired in our subconscious mind, which operates on autopilot.  BUT, 5% of our mind operates from the conscious part of our mind, and this is where the magic happens. When we become mindful of our thoughts, actions, and behaviors and watch them unattached and without judgment…we begin to truly experience what our self-sabotaging behavior feels like in our body, heart, and soul. The more we simply observe, we begin to make decisions consciously and are not a pawn of our subconscious mind.

Simply watch your reactions to daily life situations without judgment and experience how it makes you feel. This will engage your conscious mind.
