| I hope you have wonderful Thanksgiving plans. I also want to acknowledge that holidays can be hard for people. As I type this, I’m remembering it’s been 11 years since my mom passed. I sat with her on Thanksgiving day, holding her hand as she slipped away…the same hands that cooked so many Thanksgiving meals for our family. Life is a roller coaster of events that feed us and events that bring us to our knees. That is a given of the human condition. BUT…even in hard times, we can remember to be thankful and cultivate an attitude of gratitude. There is usually a lot going on Thanksgiving week, meal prep, travel to family, and endless sales to pull us away from ourselves. As you move through this week, may gratitude become more than a feeling — may it be your way of returning to yourself. Not forced. Not obligatory. Just gentle and nurturing. And as always… May you savor what supports you. May you release what weighs you down. May you step into ease — it’s always there…waiting patiently for you to embrace. Big love to all of you. Thanks so much for being here, e’Layne 1 Practice to Tune into Your Body This is a great way to start the day. I am trying to remember to do it every morning. Before you get out of bed, place your hand gently over your heart. Feel the quiet rhythm beneath your palm — your own steady aliveness. Take one slow breath and say inwardly: “I’m grateful to welcome another day.” or say whatever you are feeling grateful for. 2 Shifts to Observe the Mind…with curiosity and an open heart. A simple moment of thanks reconnects us to something larger than ourselves. Take a minute to remember the ways you are supported and remember the people who love you. This sense of belonging builds emotional resilience, creativity, and ease. When you find yourself in a funk, let it be a cue to be thankful for one thing in your life. 3 Quotes and a Question to Awaken the Soul “Grace isn’t a place you arrive at. It’s something you notice.” — e’Layne “Wear gratitude like a cloak, and it will feed every corner of your life.” — Rumi “It is not joy that makes us grateful; it is gratitude that makes us joyful.” — David Steindl-Rast And drumroll…the Question What wants to be acknowledged with gratitude in this season of my life? xoxoox…e’Layne _________________________________________________ If you practice one of my suggestions, please let me know the outcome.
